As my term as Vice President comes to an end, I want to thank all of my supporters who have stood loyally at my side for the many years that I have been in public service. I deeply appreciate everything they have done for me. I also want to thank the citizens of Palau for believing in me as one of their leaders. Many people have come to me seeking assistance with everything from personal problems to help with their businesses to family issues. I have tried to help each person who sought me out since I believe that it is through the simple act of helping another person succeed that we all can be successful.

I am very proud of the programs that I have been able to establish, especially those that give our youth additional opportunities to excel. The youth of Palau are the Future of Palau and I will work as a private citizen to continue to strengthen our children’s future and help to make them into responsible adults. So far, these youth programs have helped our children and put many of them on the right track.

Now, with the inauguration of Palau’s new leadership just two months away, we must put aside the competitiveness of the political campaigns and come together as a society and nation so that we will continue to grow and prosper.

My prayers will be with the new leaders and I trust that they will succeed.
